I am clearly a non routine applicant as I was issued with RQ and finger print mentioned above. Last almost a month, my ecas status has been changed from "in process" to "decision made".
I have called the call centre to have more information, but unfortunately they have no infomation. I spoke to 3 people in call centre in 3 different days.
The answers are not similar. They cant give any information. All have said that I have to wait for the letter from CIC. In responsding to my question regarding the time will CIC take to inform me the decison, I have received different answers from different agents.
One person said it will take 6 months from the day of citizenship test. Others said according to processing time, in my case up to 36 months. I am really confused. I will appreciate your thoughts around:. New Posts. Members Profile. Post Reply. As I don't meet physical presence I have only days presence, but social ties are very strongthe CIC officer informed me that I will have to meet the CJ for hearing.
Since then I am waiting for the letter to appear before CJ. But today 10 July I checked on line staus of my application. I found, it says "decision made". When I click "decision made"it doesn't give any new message. It still gives update up to the call for citizenship test, which already done and passed.
What does it mean? Did the CJ made decision without my appearance? Is it a positive decision? Will appreciate your thoughts. Probably a rejection letter. No way in hell are they granting people czship with that large of a shortfall. You need to be here physically for at least days in every day period, and also be living here for minimum of 4 years total. You should have known better.
Wait until you meet ALL the criteria before you apply again. Czship application is not a game. It is not means by which to acquire a nationality or passport for convenience.
Getting a rejection letter whatever the reason is serious. You are almost certainly guaranteed an RQ when you apply again. The vast majority of this forum: the users meet ALL requirements yet still cannot get czship or get RQed for a variety of reasons.
Outright missing the requirements is no way to go. Having "substantial ties to Canada" only helps when your case has been flagged by CIC, you somewhat meet the requirements on paper but really lived here for 4 years and you need to appear before court. In that case, you can show that your residence in question is genuine because of whatever you have here.
When you move to a new place, follow the rules in place.Generally how long does it take to: 1. Receive confirmation letter whether my renewal is approved or rejected? Will I be notified by mail? Receive renewed PR card in the mail? Will renewed PR card be sent by mail since I submitted a Canadian address?
Under what reasons will they request someone to pick up the card in person instead? And is there anyway to contact the CIC from overseas? I live abroad with a Canadian citizen husband. New Posts. Members Profile.Permanent Resident Card
Post Reply. Thanks for your help. I do not know how this will unfold, particularly, in your actual situation, and thus cannot guess at the timelines. Generally CIC will not mail a PR card to a representative's address, if of course CIC identifies an address as not the applicant's actual residential address. What happens in an actual case varies depending on the circumstances. The last I noticed time flies and it has been at least awhilegenerally CIC would not mail notice to pick up the PR card to a representative's address either.
Reminders: -- PR status is not dependent on possession of a valid PR card. Yes, this imposes some inconvenience for most PRs living abroad with a Canadian citizen spouse, and this can be very inconvenient for a PR whose passport is not visa-exempt and who thus would have to apply for a PR Travel Document for each and every trip to Canada, but this preference is CIC's policy.
Regarding contacting CIC from abroad: sometimes email works. Designating an authorized representative in Canada will allow your representative to contact CIC on your behalf. Bureaucracy is what bureaucracy does, or When in doubt, follow the instructions. Otherwise, follow the instructions. BTW: Not an expert, not a Can.

Post Reply. Hi everyone, My wife is Canadian and I am an American. We married in March of last year wedding in Canada and I have been living with her in BC as a visitor.
Our application was accepted on June 8th, She was approved to sponsor me on August 8th In September we applied for a visitors extension. This extension was approved early January and permits me to continue to visit through September of We received [your] application for permanent residence on June 8, We started processing [your] application on January 15, Medical results have been received.
A decision has been made on [your] application. The office will contact [you] concerning this decision. I have a squeaky clean background check and good medical history so we are hopeful this means approval. If I have been approved for residency does this mean I can expect the correspondence from IC to tell me to come in for a stamp or is there more waiting that usually happens?
I realize every case is different but was hoping to get a ballpark estimate or hear how long it had taken other people after seeing this update on the website. Same thing happened to me, we received the "decision had been made" around the begining of November. CIC contacted us on Jan 10th to come to the local office on Jan Sounds to me you are getting your residency very soon!
I am sure if there was an issue, you would have heard by now. Normally they said they send a letter telling you when to come in, however they were extremely behind so they decided just to call us.This section contains policy, procedures and guidance used by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada staff. If the decision maker refuses an application, the adult applicant is sent a letter in writing giving the reasons for refusal. Some exceptions apply. For example, if a minor loses permanent resident status during processing or is prohibited from being granted citizenship then advice should be sought from NHQ prior to sending a refusal letter to the minor.
If the parents of a concurrent minor applicant are both refused, it is not necessary to send a refusal letter to the minor for having no Canadian parent. The adult refusal letters include text that advises of the impact on a concurrent minor applicant due to the refusal of the parent.
The templates are set up so sections match the order of the appropriate section of the Act. Citizenship officers need to take extra care in ensuring that appropriate sections are deleted or retained including removing highlighted instructions before sending the final letter to the applicant.
In the signature block, the officer can sign with their usual signature but the identity of the officer must be clear and the name should be identifiable. Where there are security concerns about identifying individual officers, guidance should be sought from Citizenship Program Delivery at NHQ. A refused applicant has 30 days after the day on which the decision is communicated to the applicant to file an application for leave for judicial review.
If the decision maker decides to refuse an application immediately after the interview, the letter giving the reasons for the decision can be given to the adult or in exceptional circumstances to the minor non-concurrent 5 2 applicant following the interview. For concurrent minor 5 2 applications, if a refusal letter is issued, it will be given to the parent or guardian and should not be handed to the minor.
If the refusal letter is handed to the adult or non-concurrent minor 5 2 applicant, they must sign a dated receipt saying they have received it. A refusal letter for a minor 5 1 applicant is sent to the person who was legally authorized to apply on their behalf. If the minor received a waiver of this requirement, the refusal letter can be sent directly to the minor.
